What You'll Learn
When a loved one starts showing the early signs of cognitive decline, families often feel caught between two options that don't quite fit. Assisted living may not offer enough support, but full memory care can feel like more than is needed right now. The Bridges neighborhood at Arbor Terrace Athens is designed for exactly this in-between moment, and we currently have availability for new residents.
What Is Bridges?
Bridges is a blend of assisted living and our Evergreen neighborhood, created for seniors in the early stages of cognitive decline. It offers more support than assisted living alone, while preserving the independence and engagement that can get lost in higher levels of care. Daily life centers on cognitive work, meaningful social activities, and supportive routines.
Who Bridges Is Designed For
Bridges is a good fit for seniors who are just beginning to experience symptoms of Alzheimer's disease or another form of dementia. Residents may need help with things like medication management, but they don't yet require the round-the-clock care provided in Evergreen. If you've started to notice changes in a parent or spouse and are wondering what comes next, Bridges may be the answer.
A Day in Bridges
Residents of our Bridges neighborhood enjoy three chef-prepared meals a day through our Dining with Dignity® program, exercise classes adapted for every ability, and a calendar packed with social and cognitive activities. Group excursions to local favorites like the State Botanical Garden of Georgia keep residents connected to the wider Athens community. Our team offers gentle support throughout the day so each resident can focus on what brings them joy.
