Senior Living Story Series: Leonard’s Story

When he was eligible for the draft during the Korean War, Leonard was sent to the University of Oklahoma for technical school and then off to England. Leonard grew up in Birmingham, Alabama, to a middle-lower class family, but it wasn’t until he traveled abroad that he developed his “world view.” Meeting people from different cultures and different parts of the world would change Leonard’s life forever.

 A Senior Living Story...

The residents at The Renaissance are teachers, college professors, historians, authors, artists—people from all different professions and walks of life. Every resident has a story, and it’s this collection of stories and people that makes living at The Renaissance so enjoyable for residents looking for friendship and a sense of community. As Leonard says, “People here are such a variety of people, from all parts of the world. We have every type of person that has contributed to their part of the world, and they all live here.”
