It’s been 43 years since Elvis Presley died, but the King of Rock and Roll got residents at Arbor Terrace Naperville all shook up this week nonetheless.

To celebrate the hip-shaking rock and roll pioneer just before the August 16 anniversary of his death, Arbor Terrace staff decked out the snack cart in rhinestone-studded, Elvis-themed memorabilia.

Among the decorations were a silhouette of Elvis in his signature bell-bottom jumpsuit, a cardboard cutout of a pink Cadillac with personalized “Elvis” license plate, and photos of Presley throughout his career.

There was even a staff member, complete with pompadour-style Elvis wig, to serenade the residents.

Residents enjoyed the trip down memory lane. Jerry Brandt, who saw Presley in concert, especially appreciated the tribute.

“Seeing Elvis in concert was one of the best memories I will cherish forever,” Jerry said. “He was dynamic, charming, very handsome. His voice was good; didn’t miss a beat. The costumes were beautiful! I will never forget that evening!”
