The women of Arbor Terrace of Asheville recently brought a taste of early Hollywood to the community.

Donning fur stoles, strands of pearls, bejeweled bracelets, hats with veils, or sparkly headbands, residents got dolled up for special photos reminiscent of the magic and mystique of a bygone era.

Taking formal photographs has become an annual tradition at Arbor Terrace of Asheville. Last year’s photo shoot was called Gorgeous Grandma; this year, the Engagement team changed it up to add the elegant accessories.

“I call this the Golden Age of Glamour, a play on the words ‘golden age’ for the style of the photos – 1920s – and ‘golden age’ for the residents, who are in their golden ages,” said Engagement Director Missy Brigance. “I like to take a yearly photo of these ladies for their families to enjoy as a keepsake, and I give a copy to the residents.”
