Sometimes, a great photo can change a life — especially when the subject happens to have four paws and is waiting for a family to call their own.
Residents at Mirabelle recently welcomed some very special visitors: senior shelter dogs from Miami-Dade Animal Services looking for their forever homes. The afternoon brought together residents, adoptable dogs and professional photographer Adam Goldberg, founder of Stronger Shot Adoption Photos, for a heartwarming experience designed to give older shelter dogs a little extra help getting noticed.
During the event, Mirabelle residents posed alongside senior dogs currently available for adoption through Miami-Dade Animal Services. Goldberg captured professional photographs designed to showcase each dog's personality and help potential adopters see what makes them special.
The idea behind the event was simple: beautiful, engaging photographs can help shelter animals stand out and increase their chances of connecting with the right family. Pairing the dogs with Mirabelle residents made the photos even more meaningful.
Between photo sessions, residents had plenty of time to visit with the dogs, offer a few scratches behind the ears and, of course, sneak in plenty of extra affection. What began as a project to help local shelter dogs quickly became a memorable afternoon for everyone involved.
Older dogs can sometimes be overlooked by families searching for a new pet, but they have plenty of love, companionship and personality left to share.
Our residents were happy to help shine a light on these deserving dogs and support their search for homes. It was also a wonderful opportunity to bring animals into the community and enjoy the joy and connection they naturally create.
At Mirabelle, meaningful experiences aren't always about going somewhere new or doing something elaborate. Sometimes they're about finding ways for our residents to use their time, talents and hearts to make a difference for someone else, even when that "someone" has a wagging tail.
