Elliott Franklin, a senior at Monmouth Regional High School in Tinton Falls, was recently awarded the title Volunteer of the Year by the Healthcare Association of New Jersey (HCANJ), an award that honors individuals who go above and beyond to serve residents in assisted living communities across the state.
For Elliott, the recognition comes after months of heartfelt dedication to the residents of Arbor Terrace Shrewsbury, where he first volunteered before officially joining the team as a dining room server in April, 2024. Known for his warmth and infectious positivity, Elliott quickly became a beloved part of the community, not just among residents, but among team members as well.
When the Arbor Terrace Shrewsbury team learned that Elliott had been selected as New Jersey’s Volunteer of the Year, we knew the news deserved a celebration. Our staff organized a surprise announcement at the community, where residents and team members gathered to share in the excitement and congratulate Elliott on his well-deserved honor.
Elliott officially received his award at the Healthcare Association of New Jersey Annual Convention in Atlantic City, held October 28–29, 2025.
