Assisted Living
I can’t say enough great things about Arbor Terrace of Athens. My mom has lived in assisted living there for one and a half years. From our first experiences with tours to moving in to day-to-day living, the staff has been tremendous. They work together in a way to assist the residents and their families, and truly make it feel like a family environment.
The care team is just that…truly caring. They check in on my mom regularly and make sure she has what she needs…always leaving with “just call me if you need anything before I come back.”
A six-year resident of Arbor Terrace, my mom's experience there was more than I could have ever asked for. It is a beautiful community and so homey and family oriented, but what really meant so much to my mom and me was the high level of care she received, both physically and emotionally. Aging is not an easy process for an individual or their loved ones; however, the folks at Arbor Terrace made it not only easier, but gave us a safe haven where we found joy, enrichment, meaningful moments, and love. I cannot express the gratitude we feel for this community that embraced us with open arms and hearts as though we were part of their family.
We chose Arbor Terrace for our mother in 2021 because it felt more like a home than an institution. Five years later, we would make the same choice. Good facility, great personalized care, warm and welcoming feeling, especially from long-term staff such as Judy and Alexis. Very pleased to be part of the Arbor Athens family.
Bridges
In April 2025, we moved Mom from another local assisted living facility to Arbor Terrace for their 2-tier memory care program. The “Bridges” staff fosters friendships among the residents who encourage Mom to participate in games and crafts and to join them in other special activities. Mom’s favorite was a recent tea party in which residents discussed their family treasures.
My mother has been at Arbor Terrace for 4.5 years. Initially, she was in Bridges, but 2 years ago moved to Evergreen due to her worsening dementia. I have found the staff to be kind, helpful, and welcoming. Arbor is clean and has a lovely garden area. My mother enjoys the koi fish in the pond. Any issues that I may have are addressed promptly. When my mother has a day of clarity, she has told me that “this is a nice place,” which is comforting to me.
Arbor Terrace has great people who help to make the issue of caring for a loved one with dementia/Alzheimer’s a little easier. They keep me informed as things change, and they let me know when I need to be involved. I can trust them with my Mom’s care.
Memory Care
This facility clearly prioritizes its residents and is supported by an exceptional team. Keisha leads the memory care team with passion, providing thorough oversight and attentive follow-up for both residents and staff. Special recognition goes to the memory care team — Dajsha, Julia, Hayley, and Mary (just to name a few) — who not only provide excellent care but are often seen holding hands, offering hugs, and assisting with activities. The genuine warmth and affection they show truly shine through in every interaction.
My mother has lived at Arbor Terrace of Athens for 8 years. Her dementia made things difficult for all of us in the early days when she insisted there was nothing wrong with her and had every intention of going home. The staff handled it beautifully, as they have any problems we have encountered over the years. Not only have they made sure that she feels comfortable and “at home”, but they have seen to it that she actually enjoys being there. She loves her Bingo games and the various musicians who come to entertain the residents.
Arbor Terrace of Athens is a gem to my family with caring for my Mom in her advanced stage of early-onset dementia. They communicate with my family, care for Mom’s physical and emotional needs, and are competent to handle her needs. What a blessing they are to my family, and I HIGHLY recommend this wonderful place to others!
