Relationships Matter Here

At Arbor Terrace of Burnt Hickory, relationships are the foundation of our community. We delight in fostering meaningful relationships — we call them deep connections — with residents and family members, and finding ways to create connections between the seniors who live here. As we learn more about our residents, we can provide even better assistance and programs to meet their ever-evolving needs.

Life Is Better Here

For more than three decades, The Arbor Company has been dedicated to providing the lifestyle and amenities that keep seniors feeling their very best.

  • Art and Education Art and Education Stimulate your mind by learning another language, painting a portrait, or exploring a new craft or skill.
  • Deep Connections Deep Connections Feel connected to a lively community. We ask the right questions and take the time to listen. It’s why residents accomplish amazing things here — things they never thought possible on their own.
  • Health and Wellness Health and Wellness Our exercise programs are designed especially for seniors to improve mobility, maintain fitness, and even challenge the brain — all in a fun format.
  • Purposeful Living Purposeful Living At Arbor Terrace, residents are meaningfully engaged throughout the day. An important part of that includes opportunities to volunteer and give back to others while remaining actively involved in the community.
  • Recreation and Leisure Recreation and Leisure We go out of our way to fulfill each resident’s wish list. From live music to barbecues to karaoke nights, if you can dream it, chances are that we’ll try it. And we love helping with family get-togethers.
  • Spiritual Spiritual Journey For many, the health of one’s soul is as meaningful as the health of one’s body. And so we offer ample opportunities for structured religious activities and individual reflection.

Each member of our team brings a heart for service, a passion for seniors, and the experience to create exceptional opportunities for our residents.

Angelia Brigance

Angelia Brigance

Executive Director

I am honored to bring my passion and experience to Arbor Terrace of Burnt Hickory. For the last 29 years, my career has been focused on navigating the many challenges that seniors face. I had the privilege of growing up with my grandparents. As a result, I was able to truly understand the gift that the elderly is to us and the importance of treating them with dignity, respect, and love. I look forward to getting to know you.

Whitney Burnt Hickory

Whitney Grant

Community Sales Director

Whitney began her career in senior living as a med tech, joining the Arbor Terrace Burnt Hickory team with more than eight years of experience in senior care and seven years of sales and marketing experience. She loves working with seniors for the valuable life lessons they share and great stories they tell. Whitney holds a Bachelors of Art and Sciences degree in biology from Georgia State University, a graduate degree from University of Phoenix, and a doctorate degree from Capella University in health administration. A native of Savannah, Georgia, she enjoys adventures and exploring with her three year old son.

Twanda W

Twanda Walker

Resident Care Director

Nursing is an altruistic profession and has been a passion of mine since I was a young girl. Being a nurse grants me the opportunity to advocate for residents and their families in way that promotes and preserves dignity and equality while aging in place. Here at Arbor, our residents are top priority and it warms my heart to know that I can make a difference simply by offering a healing hand, a listening ear, and being both empathetic and compassionate during a time of uncertainty.

Patty

Patty Muroski

Evergreen Memory Care Director

With an abundance of experiences throughout my 37 years of nursing, I found a deep-rooted passion for serving seniors, especially those transitioning through memory loss, and have spent the last decade dedicating my career to guiding them along their journey. The level of reward is immeasurable when you know you’ve made a difference in the lives of others. To be a part of wonderful company who genuinely considers every resident important to them lets me know I’m in the right place.

Taja

Taja Thomas

Engagement Director

I realized that I had a passion for serving seniors after taking my first public health class in gerontology.  It was at that time that I decided to put my passion into finding my dream job in senior living engagement. In my spare time, you will find me crafting and spending time with my loving husband and spunky daughter who loves to help ‘the grandmas and grandpas’.

Mia

Mia Chabral

Resident Relations Director

Mia brings extensive experience in administration, customer service, strong organizational skills, and exceptional patient/resident care to the Arbor team. Her favorite part of her job is interacting with the residents.  Mia has over 15 years working in the healthcare industry, five of those with senior living communities.  She is a certified nurse assistant, holds a BS in Nutrition and Wellness Across the Lifespan from the University of Alabama, at Birmingham, and is currently working toward her master's in functional nutrition.

Amber

Amber Smith

Business Office Director

I first began volunteering in activities at a senior living community during college and quickly realized that this is the field I wanted to remain in. Helping others has always been a passion of mine, and working with the elderly has made this experience all the better. Since joining the senior living industry, I have gained an abundance of knowledge and insight. The joy I receive in providing assistance to employees, residents and families is unmatched.

He then worked his way as maintenance tech up to Regional Maintenance and Life Safety Director, overseeing nine different communities. In 2016 Joe and his family decided to move to Georgia where he started working for an assisted living community as the Maintenance Director. In 2019 he had the opportunity to start working for The Arbor Company and proves himself to be a great asset to this company every day.

Olive

Olive

Chief Morale Officer

Olive Rose has been a part of senior living since she was 7 weeks old. As a miniature English Bulldog, Olive loves to snuggle up to our residents, show them how she can chase a ball and bring it back, and wiggles her body all over with excitement when she gets to see them. Olive is part of the engagement team, and you will notice Olive on the weekly calendar every Tuesday afternoon for group and individual pet visits. At night she goes to her home with our Executive Director where she plays with her two big sisters.
