Dementia and Alzheimer's disease rob individuals of their capacity to identify familiar surroundings and even loved ones. Wandering, confusion, and disorientation regarding their whereabouts are frequent occurrences among those living with dementia, and this behavior can appear across all stages of dementia. According to the Alzheimer’s Association, six out of every 10 individuals with dementia will experience wandering episodes, with a considerable portion encountering repeated instances of wandering.
As a grateful nation saluted the men and women who gave their lives for our freedom, Arbor Terrace Naperville held an “Arbor 500” remote-control car race among residents, and the engagement team gave residents handmade poppies and notes in honor of Memorial Day. Other fun activities included word searches, puzzles, and snacks from the patriotically decorated cart.
