Social Opportunities at Every Turn

Aging research agrees: Connected adults are healthy adults. Socialization with peers is even more important when living with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease or another type of dementia. Our Bridges neighborhood allows your loved one to be themselves among their friends, participating in a variety of social events and programs designed with healthy socialization and cognitive exercise in mind. Isolation is a common coping mechanism for seniors living with early stage cognitive decline, but being alone only adds to how quickly the disease progresses. Your loved one will stay connected and find something in common with other Bridges neighbors. And, your loved one will always be an integral part of their Arbor Terrace home.

Happy Birthday, Barbie!

03.14.24

Happy 65th Birthday, Barbie! The doll made its debut at the American International Toy Fair in New York City on March 9, 1959. This date is also used as Barbie's official birthday. Barbie’s inventor, Ruth Handler, named the doll after her daughter Barbara. On her birthday, we learned the history behind Barbie, and Christine, our engagement coordinator, shared a small part of her collection with some of our residents. They really enjoyed it!
