At Arbor Terrace Glenview, we support those who support our seniors. That’s why we sought to find and award someone who demonstrates a strong heart and is making a great impact in senior care with the Heart of Gold Award. Our winner demonstrates is making a difference in the lives of seniors every day, and truly demonstrates what it means to have a heart of gold!

Meet our first Heart of Gold Winner for 2022...Myra!

Myra, a service dog from St. Andrews Lutheran Church, is Arbor Terrace Glenview’s Heart of Gold winner. Myra has received specific training to help her interact with the public, become comfortable being held and touched, safely and properly approach people using walkers or wheelchairs, how to “walk with” someone calmly, commands, and much more!

LCC’s K-9 comfort dog ministry was launched in 2008 and has become a "national human-care ministry embracing the unique, calming nature and skills of purebred Golden Retrievers. LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs are working animals, trained to interact with people of all ages and circumstances who are suffering and in need."

Myra visits Arbor Terrace Glenview every other week, and brings joy to our residents and staff. She has made a great impact in the lives of seniors with her heart of gold!
