Ryan Jones

Executive Director

Ryan has enjoyed a career in health services, and has experience with project management. He holds a certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP), and has served in executive positions in different upscale communities. Serving others brings joy to his heart and he is excited to be a part of the Summit of Uptown family!

Jocelyn Newhall

Director of Sales

With more than 22 years of experience helping seniors and their families navigate care and lifestyle decisions, Jocelyn Newhall brings expertise, compassion, and a personal touch to her role as Director of Sales at The Summit of Uptown. She has proudly served the community for over two years, building on five years with another Arbor Company community.

Known for blending warmth, humor, and honesty, Jocelyn also mentors new sales team members across The Arbor Company. Before entering senior living, she was an award-winning equestrian and coach. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, reading, cooking, and spending time with her horse, cat, and dog.

Robyn Velazquez

Community Sales Director

With more than 30 years of experience serving seniors, Robyn Velazquez has dedicated her career to helping individuals and families navigate the journey of senior living with compassion, expertise, and genuine care. Supporting others through this important life transition is not just her profession—it’s her passion.

Robyn is proud to be a wife and mother of two. Her husband owns a successful plumbing business, and together they prioritize family time. Outside of work, she enjoys staying active, working out regularly, and relaxing by the pool during the summer. She considers it a true privilege to walk alongside the seniors and families she serves, making each step meaningful and smooth.

Marinela Busu, RN

Resident Care Director

Marinela holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and her experience working with older adults has led her to realize that she has found her true calling in her career. For her, working with seniors is meaningful, rewarding, and impactful. She believes that simple gestures such as a kind word, a smile, and showing compassion can enhance efficiency and inspire greater patience. Marinela firmly believes that everyone deserves respect, kindness, and reassurance, and she takes joy in providing these qualities in her work.

May Granada, Engagement Director

May Granada

Engagement Director

Since 2011, May Granada has brought creativity, compassion, and more than a decade of senior living experience to her role. She designs engaging, resident-centered programs—from themed socials to music-based memory activities—that foster connection, purpose, and well-being.

Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, birdwatching, crafting, and karaoke, always infusing her programs with the same energy and joy she shares with residents.

Jacob Rock

Dining Services Director

Jacob followed his talent for cooking and made it into his career. A graduate of Kendall College Culinary School, Jacob gained great experience working in restaurants and upscale venues, but he found his best fit was in working with seniors. He truly enjoys sharing his culinary creations and engaging with the residents.

Mark Cooper

Maintenance Director

With more than 20 years in skilled trades, Mark Cooper brings extensive technical expertise to his role as Maintenance Director. He has spent a decade in senior living, including four years supporting IT operations, and holds numerous licenses and certifications.

“When the door opened and the opportunity presented itself, I didn’t know what would be waiting for me on the other side, but I knew I had to take the chance and find out,” Mark says. “It was the best career move I’ve ever made, and I couldn’t be happier to be part of the Summit of Uptown team.”

Jacinta

Jacinta Johnson

Business Office Director

Jacinta joined the Summit of Uptown in 2021 after working in healthcare for many years. While working in social services, she attended college and earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration. After college, she left senior living and pursued a career in the legal, banking, and real estate industries.

In 2007, she returned to her first love of healthcare, working as a social services designer, memory care director, and now as the business office director here at the Summit of Uptown. In her spare time, Jacinta loves spending time with family and friends, whether traveling or attending various events.
