Assisted Living
I am happy to say that I am now the proud and grateful daughter of an Arbor Terrace graduate! What I mean by “graduate” is that the caring, attentive, and compassionate staff at Arbor Terrace provided my mom with such excellent care and services that she literally no longer needs them. My mom’s recovery from a very serious illness would not have happened without the care and support of everyone at Arbor Terrace — from the front desk staff, skilled nurses, program staff, and administrators. Everyone played a role in helping my mom get back on her feet physically and emotionally.
Our mother, Julia Clark, recently passed away at the youthful age of 96. Arbor Terrace Senior Assisted Living, located in Lanham, MD, was her cherished home for the past 12 years. The amazingly insightful staff embraced her vibrant personality and welcomed her into their community. The activities/events director, Denise “Sparkle” Kirksey, understood our mother’s strong desire for community service and provided numerous opportunities… Denise made sure our mother knew she was valued and that her contributions were most appreciated.
I found Arbor Terrace through A Place for Mom. The first visit felt so welcoming — from the vibrant color schemes of the decor to the cleanliness of the building and the spaciousness of the apartments. Every staff member we came in contact with was so friendly; the residents there looked happy to reside there. My dad and I decided to make Arbor Terrace his home. The apartments are very nice, and all of the staff that we have met have been very helpful, especially Nicola, who went above and beyond to make the move-in process as seamless as possible. If you or a loved one is looking for an Assisted Living community, I recommend Arbor Terrace!
Memory Care
I have been visiting with my sister in the Evergreen Section (Memory Care) at Arbor Terrace for 2.5 years! Overall, the staff for each department is professional, responsive, and friendly. Throughout the years, many wonderful events are planned. Recently, I attended church with my sister — what a blessing! Most recent was the Luau — what fun was had by everyone! The Arbor Terrace Engagement Team is awesome!
We had nothing but positive experiences in the 2 years my mother lived here in the memory care unit. I lived out of state and I was called immediately if she were sick or in response to my calls or emails. Every member of the staff was attentive and kind, and the director’s door was always open when I visited. They were also very supportive when my mother passed away.
It’s been one year since our loved one was moved from a substandard senior facility to the wonderful Arbor Terrace Senior Living in Greenbelt. When we first entered Arbor Terrace, we were greeted with beautiful smiles from Miss Candace, Miss Renae, and several others who completely set the pace and made us feel at home.
Our loved one resides in Evergreen, the memory care unit, where Ms. Constance and her team of care partners do a great job of meeting all of her needs as well as keeping her safe, clean, and engaged in many activities. The beauty salon is awesome — she loves her nails, and her hair is always done so nicely. We always look forward to the calendar to see what Miss Denise and the engagement team have in store for the residents… We feel that our loved one deserves the best care possible. We have definitely made a great choice.
