The Health Care Association of New Jersey (HCANJ) has awarded our very own resident, Ms. Evelyn Carson with their Resident Better Life Award. This award recognizes a resident in a senior living community who has made outstanding contributions to enhance the lives of fellow residents. They look for residents who share a special talent with others, and whose personality is an inspiration to all. In Ms. Evelyn, they have certainly found both characteristics!
Ms. Evelyn is a more than worthy candidate for this award—she serves as the president of the Resident Council and a Resident Ambassador at Arbor Terrace Mount Laurel. In her role, she leads meetings, encourages residents to attend community events and activities, and lends a shoulder and a listening ear for residents to share their concerns. 
One of the reasons Ms. Evelyn received this award is because she consistently goes above and beyond out of compassion for her fellow residents. She shares meals with them, and visits them personally to motivate them to participate and be active members of this community. She even makes herself available to speak with people who are touring the community to answer any questions they might have. It is her goal that all residents feel welcomed and valued.
In addition to being an excellent representative of Arbor Terrace, Ms. Evelyn leads a community prayer group and inspirational storytelling sessions each week. She also visits with residents in memory care to sing hymns.

Our residents look forward each week to her program giving them inspiration and positivity to start their day. Evelyn is a beacon of light and positivity in our community.”
