In this episode of The Golden Gang podcast, Arbor Terrace Mount Laurel highlights a special guest who’s redefining what it means to be a community volunteer. Our host introduces listeners to Darsh—a driven, compassionate high school student who is not only excelling academically, but also making waves in the world of philanthropy.

A Young Heart with a Big Mission

Darsh may be young, but his impact is far-reaching. As a full-time high school student, he juggles the pressures of school with the responsibilities of leading his own nonprofit organization—an initiative that began with a simple yet powerful goal: to reduce medical supply waste in senior living communities, inspired by his family. His organization collects and redistributes used and cleaned medical supplies, ensuring they find a second life in the hands of those who need them most.

What makes Darsh’s story even more remarkable is his genuine joy in giving back. As he shared with Wanda on the podcast, seeing a smile on someone’s face as a result of his work is truly “indescribable.” That joy, he says, is what keeps him going.

Darsh’s ambitions don’t end in his home state of New Jersey. He’s already setting his sights on expanding his nonprofit nationally, envisioning partnerships with Arbor communities across the country to bring essential supplies to seniors everywhere. With his motto “when there’s a will, there’s a way,” and a competitive spirit, it’s clear he’s got both the heart and the hustle to make that big dream a reality.

Stories like this serve as a reminder that senior living communities aren’t just for senior residents—they are living, breathing ecosystems where people of all ages can find purpose, mentorship, and belonging.
