What is your experience in wellness programming and senior living?
I have served as an Engagement Director in senior living communities for three years, where I implement engaging programs and activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and overall well-being. With a Master of Science in Recreation Administration, I spent nearly 15 years as a program director for summer camps and luxury resorts, and I love the science behind recreation, flow, and play theories. Creating space for growth and correlating physical, mental, and emotional health drives me to continue in this field.
How does engagement at Arbor Terrace Lakeway improve residents’ lives?
Our team offers various engagement programs, so whatever our residents are interested in or might be interested in – we have it! We create an environment where residents are comfortable learning and trying something new, which is a life improvement at any age.
How does your engagement team take a fresh approach to life enrichment?
We have an excellent, dedicated team of Engagement Coordinators excited to bring residents both new programs and activities they’ve already grown to love. Each team member goes above and beyond to provide residents with the fitness, spiritual, and educational engagements they deserve while allowing everyone to have fun doing it.
What is your favorite part about leading resident engagement?
I love the friendship and deep connections that are created. I want all of our residents to feel the same warmth and friendship they provide me, and I enjoy watching them get excited about trying new things. To all new residents, our team welcomes you, and there is always something to do in our community! A big life transition can take time, but before you know it, you'll flex your trivia skills at our Weekly Pub Quiz or debate at our University Lecture Series.
