The Benefits of Assisted Living at Arbor Terrace

Want to have a better life? Forget about aging in place. Life at home can be stressful, expensive, and deeply isolating. It’s challenging to find meaningful ways to fill the time, and you may find yourself relying on your adult children much more than you’d like to. None of this means you have to give up on your dreams of a meaningful retirement, though. You might just need to reenvision what the picture of your retirement looks like. Assisted living at Arbor Terrace offers help when you need it, along with an all-inclusive community where your dreams can truly take flight. Here are the benefits of transitioning to senior living at our exceptional community.

Better Health

Need some inspiration to get healthy? Assisted living offers it. We provide a beautiful setting for pursuing your health goals, whether it’s a daily walk or mastering weightlifting. With regular senior-friendly exercise classes, you’re sure to find something you like — from yoga to chair aerobics. Exercise can help slow the progression of virtually every chronic disease, reduce pain, and ease depression, so an environment that encourages you to exercise is one that can help you live better and longer.

No More Isolation

Loneliness feels awful. It’s also terrible for your health — so terrible, in fact, that the U.S. government has called it an epidemic. You’ve worked hard your entire life. Don’t spend your retirement feeling alone and isolated. Arbor Terrace offers a ready-made community of diverse seniors committed to leading purposeful, adventurous lives. Take a stroll down the hallway and you just might meet your new best friend.

More Opportunities for Learning and Growth

Life doesn’t end with retirement. For seniors who choose to stay active and engaged, it’s just beginning. Now is a great time to master a new skill, nurture new friendships, and refocus on your physical and mental health. At Arbor Terrace, we offer an ever-evolving roster of classes, activities, and outings to help you cultivate new skills, embrace new ways of thinking, and enjoy your life.

A Better Relationship with Loved Ones

One challenge few seniors talk about openly is the danger of a body that doesn’t do what you want it to. Even if your mind is sharp, you may need help with daily tasks. And that assistance often falls to children or other loved ones. Though it’s great to be able to rely on your family, many seniors find it stressful to do so. They worry about being a burden, or see that caregiving stresses out their loved ones or becomes a source of family conflict.

Caregiver burnout is real, with far-reaching effects that can undermine your health and the sanity of your family. With assisted living, you regain your independence in the mind of loved ones and can refocus on establishing a relationship of equals, free from the stress of caregiving.

Gourmet Food

Think you have to give up the foods you love most to be healthy? Think again. There’s a happy balance to be found there, and no matter what your nutritional needs are, Arbor Terrace can find a tasty way to meet them.

Forget about endless list-making and recipe research. You’ll never again wait in line at the grocery store or find that the apparently perfect recipe you planned was anything but. We serve gourmet food every day in a posh setting so that you can enjoy each meal without wasting endless time on food prep and grocery shopping.

The Life You Deserve

Arbor is deeply committed to helping every senior craft their perfect retirement. We’d love to help you find the right senior living community for your needs, even if that community is not us.
