Frequently Asked Questions
What senior living options can be found at Mirabelle?
What is Connected Living at Mirabelle?
Our connected living neighborhood was designed specifically for seniors living with early-stage cognitive decline—those who don’t yet need to be in a memory care or dementia care setting.
This special neighborhood within our community gives residents the chance to live in a beautiful and safe environment created just for them. Residents can be themselves among their friends, while participating in a variety of social events and programs designed with healthy socialization and cognitive exercise in mind.
What's the difference between independent living and assisted living near Miami?
Both options can foster independence, ease caregiver stress and help seniors live longer, healthier lives. You can have your own private apartment or condo in each living arrangement, but there are also important differences.
Independent living at Mirabelle is all about lifestyle preference—not a form of senior care. It can provide some peace of mind to seniors who no longer feel comfortable living alone, or who are looking for a more active community to call home. Independent living communities are usually more affordable, but unlikely to be covered by Medicare, Medicaid or insurance. Involvement with staff is largely dependent on your preferences, and this senior living option does not provide access to medical or nursing care.
Assisted living is a good option for people who are no longer able to live alone, but don't need intensive nursing care. Residents still enjoy privacy and independence, but help is available 24/7 with the simple push of a button, and our team members will assist them with basic life tasks. Assisted living facilities in Dadeland typically cost more than independent living, but are more likely to be covered by long-term-care insurance, employee benefits programs and Medicaid.

How is memory care different than assisted living near Miami?
Both memory care and assisted living offer supportive care to people with a range of health issues, including cognitive impairments. Memory care, however, caters specifically to those with Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia through dementia-friendly activities and staff trained in the psychological and physical effects of cognitive impairments. Memory care can either be offered on its own or, more often, provided as a service in a separate area of an assisted living facility.

Why live at Mirabelle instead of living at home?
Though aging at home sounds like a great option, it is not always the safest or best for remaining as healthy as possible—there are often issues with accessibility, socialization, isolation and overall wellness. Senior living communities like Mirabelle are specially designed with older adults in mind, to make sure they get the care and attention they need. Every last detail was built to accommodate seniors and their diverse needs. Mirabelle also offers activities, events, and programming designed to help residents socialize and make meaningful connections with other residents and staff.
In addition, our team members are here, 24/7, to assist with tasks such as medication management, personal care tasks, or other services. They are already nearby or on site, and know each of our residents and their preferences. At Mirabelle, we offer independent living, assisted living, connected living, and memory care, providing the support you need, when you need it.
What is the average cost of senior living in Florida?

Does Medicare cover the cost of assisted living near Miami?
Medicare will not typically cover the non-medical care expenses associated with independent living or assisted living in Florida. Medicare typically only covers a short-term stay in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation community while an older adult is recovering from an illness or injury. It can also cover in-home rehab care performed by a home health nurse or therapist.
What’s the difference between Mirabelle and a nursing home near Miami?
Mirabelle was designed to be reminiscent of home, offering private apartments and independence for our residents. In fact, many of our independent and assisted living residents drive their own cars, cook some of their own meals, and come and go as they please.
The luxury Senior living lifestyle at Mirabelle includes dining, housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, and all of the other world-class amenities that Arbor is known for. Our staff is available 24 hours a day to provide help, if and when it’s needed.
By contrast, a nursing home (also known as a skilled nursing facility) offers more comprehensive support to those who have extensive medical needs in more of a clinical environment. Nursing homes near Miami provide the highest level of care possible outside of a hospital, delivering 24-hour care to seniors who have complex medical conditions and need hands-on assistance and monitoring. Skilled nursing facilities are the best choice for those who need assistance with tasks that go beyond the activities of daily living.
