The Best Senior Centers Near Fort Worth

Dallas-Fort Worth, U.S. News & World Report’s ninth-best place to retire, offers everything you could want for an exceptional retirement: low crime, plenty to do, no state income tax, and dozens of exceptional medical facilities and healthcare providers. Senior centers form the heart of Fort Worth’s 65-and-older life. These centers welcome seniors of all ages and ability levels, boasting a wide range of activities, classes, and special events. They’re also a great spot for networking, and if you’re seeking a referral to a great doctor, an amazing senior living community, or just about anything else, the people you meet at senior centers will know where to send you.

Here are our picks for the five best Fort Worth senior centers.

1. Fort Worth YMCA

The Fort Worth YMCA offers access to a diverse range of activities, including its beloved Silver Sneakers fitness program, a pool, swimming lessons, fitness classes, event space, and special outings, all for a single membership fee. Low-income seniors qualify for discounted memberships, as well as additional services such as a free lunch program.

2. Keller Senior Activities Center

Catering to seniors 55 and older, the Keller Senior Activities Center offers year-round activities for active older adults. Seniors can attend classes, reserve space for a gathering, or go on one of the Center’s many trips. Members will be visiting the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina in September, and they enjoy an annual Summer Bash in June.

3. Hurst Senior Activities Center

The Hurst Senior Activities Center is a contemporary, 27,500-square-foot facility featuring a cafe, fitness room, game room, classes, a large hardwood dance floor, and more. Enjoy $5 meals on Tuesdays, or master quilting, ceramics, computers, or a wide range of other skills by signing up for classes. Subscribe to the Center’s Senior Pipeline magazine to connect to other fun activities, and learn more about what’s happening at Hurst this month.

4. Fort Worth Community Centers

Fort Worth offers 21 community centers that cater to residents of all ages. This makes them a great spot to enjoy a family event or find common ground with the grandkids. Some examples of upcoming events include:
