According to the AARP, “isolation increases the risk of mental and physical illnesses. In fact, the health risks of prolonged isolation are equivalent to smoking 15 cigarettes a day.” One of the major reasons for isolation is age-related hearing loss.

80% of individuals over the age of 85 have some sort of hearing loss but less than 1 in 5 of those affected by hearing loss actually wear a hearing aid.  Hearing loss is not only tied to social isolation, but also increased dementia risk and an increased rate of premature death.

Matt Reiners, Co-Founder of Eversound, helps us explore the studies behind hearing loss and the emerging technology used to advance assistive hearing devices.

Join us to learn more about hearing loss and isolation, including:

  • Understanding the link between hearing loss and cognitive decline
