The Arbor Company Response to COVID-19

At The Arbor Company, our focus is the health and safety of our residents, staff, and visitors. As a senior living operator, we are no strangers to infection control procedures, even well before COVID-19 became a pandemic. We follow guidelines from state and local health departments, as well as The Center for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC).

Explore some of the precautions we are taking at Arbor communities:

  • Social Distancing

We work to maintain social distancing to balance safety and joy, especially when someone is sick.

  • Masks Encouraged for Residents

We encourage residents to wear masks whenever they leave their apartments or when a staff member is in their apartments.

  • Regular COVID-19 Testing

Our few unvaccinated team members and outside vendors complete regular COVID-19 testing.

  • Masks Encouraged for Visitors

Every person entering the community is encouraged to wear a mask.

  • Visitor Screening

Anyone entering the community, including residents, staff members, visitors, and vendors, must complete our screening procedure before entering.

  • Surface Sanitization

Our housekeeping and maintenance teams clean and sanitize commonly touched surfaces regularly.

  • Quarantining

Based on state guidelines, unvaccinated new residents and unvaccinated residents returning to the community, such as from the hospital, quarantine in their apartments.

  • Connection

We are delighted to welcome visitors in our communities. But when protocols require it, we will also help residents connect with their friends and families via video visits using tools such as Zoom and FaceTime, or through scheduled window visits.

  • Engaging Activities

Our activities are open, but in the event someone must quarantine, we have a variety of portable, engaging activities to bring to residents.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Staff will use full PPE, which may include gowns, gloves, and face shields, when interacting with any residents on isolation protocols. We have supplies of PPE on-hand, with backup supplies available if needed.

  • Resident Monitoring

We work to monitor the health and wellness of our residents, from temperature checks to symptom monitoring. Deep connections and personal touches are important to us, and we take pride in knowing our residents and how they are feeling.
